Final Year Project

Project Title

A Sidewalk: A Design-Led Inquiry into Urban Design and Street Environment

Description

My project is an inquiry into the urban environment and street design using design thinking and psychogeography as research tools. I have specifically looked at public spaces (not necessarily recreational in nature; roads and sidewalks) and how they catalyze community engagement. This project is an investigation into what makes the inhabitants of a city feel a sense of security (or lack thereof) in public spaces. The question that I ask is, who is the city built for? If public spaces are inaccessible to most women, children, and old people.
